Passengers booking ticket for Railway's luxury train, Maharaja Express, can now avail of 17 percent discount on Air India tickets in any part of the country, a senior railway official said Wednesday.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Travel and Tourism Branch of Railway and Air India sign a Memorandum of Understanding for developing and promoting special tour packages for Indian Railway's major premium rail tourist products – Maharaja Express and Buddhists. To fly along with passenger trains, you can book tickets on the Maharaja Express Express website on Wednesday. Proposals will be valid for the Buddhist Circuit Train at a later date.
"Passengers can now book tickets for Maharaja Express and they will get 17 percent discount on Air India tickets, these tickets can be for travel between any city of India," the official said.
This is the first such initiative of both travel veterans who are looking to take advantage of their respective markets and large customer base.
Maharaja Express Express is an over-luxury offer of IRCTC, which includes tourist attractions like major princely states like India, Delhi, Agra, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Varanasi, Mysore, Goa and Mumbai.
