NEW YORK – At the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, dogs from Johnson to Yorkshire are ringing around the ring.
The variety judgement began in Monday in a distinguished performance in New York. More than 2,800 dogs of 203 breeds and breeds signed up for the two-day competition, leading to the best show of television on Tuesday night.
Monday's judges included grazing, hounds, non-sports and toy groups of dogs. A highly regarded player is expected to become a whisky, an opportunity to win a grand prize on a TV show aired on Thanksgiving Day and New Year's Day.
This year's Westminster show has two new varieties, the grand Bassett Griffin Vendeen and Nederlandse kooikerhondje.
The show also hosted an agile tournament on Saturday and a obedience tournament on Monday.
